Museum Review
10 BUCKs and no photographs of the absolute bright and splendid graphic design world of http://www.takashimurakami.com/ MuraKami shows splendid sculptures and bright bright instillation's that astound . I figured very large portions were wallpaper and I was right. Some stuff is very sexually explicit but his use of color is really good. The subject matter borders on simple stuff too really trippy disturbed asian things that you are not sure if they excite you or if they slightly scare you or if it what your plate looks like at the end of a meal at a round table just magnified like 400X. When I see acrylic on canvas mounted on board I often wonder the process to get everything so sharp.
GHADA AMER - Was much better not only in substance but also when it came to aesthetics- large pieces of various levels of plain to explicit material that was done in the medium of sewing. They took on large abstract form while retaining a detailed idea or visual reference to the plight of women.
I also was lucky enough to see George there.
