KOKOShaka is third in the Austrian art scene. He got the bronze while Klimt got the GOlD and Schiele got the silver. This isn't really fair but then again so isn't life. I saw a show of his at the Belvedere and had never really heard of him before going to this show. It was a good show and quite inspiring. I went to Vienna last week for my birfday. I love that city. If I had to live in central europe I would live there. By the time i left i was starting to feel real local I stopped at a bakery got some pastries to go the half off ones cause the cream was gonna go bad and ordered a melange to go. The lady was mad impressed with me being a foreigner and going that local. I also got the schokotorte..It is an expensive city if you know what is up. It reminds me of NY a little in that way. If you want to live the high life you can you just got to flip the bill to do so. Also if you wanna live mad cheap you also can it just takes a little more work to be cheap. Like shopping in supermarkets and stuff like that. Also at the same time you got mad pretty palaces and gardens you also got mad slummy parts of town with signs from the 1950's still hanging off of buildings.

Spring is really starting early here in Germany. Global warming although is a myth. NYC just got pounded by a snowstorm and it made me think about how it always snows around my birthday. I found out this week that Larry Davis was shanked in prison. If you do not know who Larry Davis is you should. I had a friend in high school whom used to get in trouble with the law alot. Whenever we were in small towns in dirty jersy they knew him and sometimes would be gunning for him . One time i was pulled over for something stupid and he was in the back of the car. By the time the cop pulled me over and came to my window he asked me why my back door was open. My freind had a warrant or something and just jetted. I told the cop I had no clue. He ended up letting us go and from then on we called this kid Larry Davis. Or if somebody pulled the disapearing act either quietly or in a violent manner we called it pulling the LArry Davis. I had no idea all this went down in the neighborhood where I used to teach in the South Bronx.
