Football season is over. A coach always called me Mike Ditka as a joke. Winter is upon us and it may start snowing anyday.An other winter in Bayern I feel it is going to be a cold one. When I got home today it was like GOD shut off the heat. I took my winter coat out of storage and gloves. All this while I check gothamist and it tells me that NYC is at 80 degrees today. I bought a second Whip. It is a 4cylinder SUV. 4 cylinders of power! It is a 4x4 I got to take it mudding. I have never been mudding in my life and am not sure what it entails but I figure as long as I do it and am buckled up and yell stuff like GIT er DONE! I will be fine. This morning on my way to work there was some really nasty black ice. In my other car i always heard about this black ice but never really experienced it. I accelerated during a small incline and slid sideways into another lane with this SUV. I did not brake but turned into and and let up on the gas and recovered the car .I am glad there was no car coming the other way or else I would have been plastered. I was not wearing my seatbelt. I have to stop playing with my Ipod while driving.This morning In fact every morning I am awoken by bells. There are a number of churches near my crib and they all ring at 6 a.m. I do not think they ring at 5 just 6. I was thinking about this today and things I used to hear at different places I have woken. When I lived in BKLYN I didn't her much as it was a railroad and my apartment was in the middle. I had french doors and If I left them open I used to hear some cars and people. When I lived in Manhattan on the Upper west Side I used to be awoken by Latin Quarter when it was on 96th and broadway. I also used to be awaken by Waste Management companies that would pick up the garbage of the Key west Diner underneath me. In Harlem there was a rear apartment near the Metro North and in the morning the Metro North would wake me especially during rush hour and there was some dude on the block who owned a vacant lot who took recycled cans from bums and had stray dogs. The dogs and bums were usually loud.He also took scrap metal. Now Mid evil bells wake me.
